The Celestial's Shaw Brothers Film Library encompasses 2000+ songs, many of which were chart-topping hits at the time of their release. Leveraging on the popular Huang Mei Diao operas from the library, Celestial Pictures partnered with EMI in 2006 to re-release 8 original soundtracks albums in Hong Kong, Taiwan, Singapore, Malaysia and China. Three new CD compilations of original Shaw Brothers classics were also released in 2006. In late November 2008, Celestial Pictures launched a new music revamped album called RETROCHINE, which was inspired by Shaw Brothers movie soundtracks.

RETROCHINE is a celebration of this era, when the mood was shifting and the party was really getting started in Hong Kong, still Asia's most cosmopolitan and fascinating city.
